Business shooting

One of the first spectacular business shooting in Switzerland took place in Zurich at April 16, 1986, when Gunther Tschanun killed four of his staff members and wounded a fifth seriously.

On July 5, 2004, a board member of a bank in Zurich killed two other board members and then committed suicide.

School shooting

The first school shooting was reported on December 30, 1974. The following years we saw only a few other school shootings, however, things changed dramatically after

Data from spring 2008 indicate, that 4 of the 99 offenders in school shootings worldwide were girls. In 87% the perpetrators used guns, and approximately one in four(22/99) committed suicide. In a third of all cases only teacher were killed, in another third only pupils and in a third both.

Students know the school environment very well, as they are there five days a week, and spent many hours there - they know much about their potential victims!

The information management is crucial for prevention! Red flag indicators must be taken seriously.

In Germany six school shootings took place since 1999, all of them after Columbine in accorance with a worldwide tendency.
